Pataskala, Ohio (Feb. 12, 2025) — Illuminate USA, the largest manufacturer of solar panels in the United States, is proud to announce that the company reached its goal of generating 2 gigawatts (GW) of energy in 2024. 

This accomplishment could not have been possible without the dedication of the thousands of associates, or Illuminators, working at the Central Ohio facility. By using the most advanced and efficient panel assembly technology in the world, our team is making a significant impact in the solar industry. 

To put this milestone in perspective, 2GW of energy is enough energy to power approximately 345,000 U.S. homes. A large nuclear or coal power plant typically has a capacity of around 1-2GW, which means that, in its first year of production, Illuminate USA is already contributing enough capacity to rival a major power plant.

This production achievement marks an important step forward in bolstering the domestic solar market in the United States. Already, Illuminate USA has provided over 1,500 jobs for Ohioans, and our leadership is committed to continuing to build American careers and onshore solar supply chain production.

As Illuminate USA continues to accelerate solar panel production at the Pataskala facility, we are on track to produce 5GW of energy per year — enough to power nearly 1 million U.S. homes.
